Finding Your Inspiration
Artists have their ups and downs much like Writers. For a while you can have a feeling of writers block. In my case 2017 was a roller coaster! Finding what some may call a Muse was difficult after graduation. I spent the last 4 years figuring out what kind of photographer I wanted to be. Knowing that I was moving across the country I felt on top of the world. I really believed i was prepared for what the world handed me. Instead, life became complicated, and now 6 months after we moved I found my inspiration again.
Some of you may know my family moved from San Diego, to a small Indiana town called Peru! aside from my husband and kids with no friends or family near by, I sort of felt like I lost my fan club. You know, that group of people who are routing for you the whole way through. While I was in school I found an amazing group of mentores, professors and creatives just like myself that kept my creative juices flowing. With all that coming to a halt my photography did too. It wasn't as if I didn't want to be a photographer, I was that I needed a break.
Our Precious Louie Girl
Shortly after we moved, One of our Family dogs passed away. Her name was Louie (short for Kahlua). She had suddenly become Ill after being treated for a foot infection. For a week I went from unpacking a house to preparing my kids for a life experience I never wanted them to go through. It was extremely hard on us all losing our family member, but after a while we felt like it was time to add another into this mix. We adopted a full of personality husky puppy. Her name is Whisky and she keeps us on our toes.
Now that the new year is upon us, I felt it was time to get out of this funk and just take pictures! Unfortunately the first couple weeks of January were sitting at subzero temperatures, so getting out was something that this southwest girl was not prepared to do. But the snow was beautiful! I loved snow when I lived in Washington state and I still love it. I came across a post in one of my photography groups and they were photographing Frozen bubbles!
"I had no idea a bubble froze so beautifully!"
After some research I too tried this Artistic photography. Later When the snow began to melt we had some Beautiful fog roll in for a day. These are the photos That i came up with.
Winter here is much like summers in Arizona. No one comes outside! So i felt that now that I am ready to get back on the saddle maybe just play around with old photos and new to make more art! Falling back in love for composite photography. I now can't wait for spring to build my Indiana portfolio and sharing my love of photography with those i photograph!
The only advice I would give anyone who feels less inspired, is that you're not alone. We all have to put photography on the back burner sometimes. And when you're ready to get back behind the camera, challenge yourself, It keeps your creativity flowing, and NEVER GIVE UP!

This session was such a blessing! This beautiful little girl loves her animals and brainstorming ways for this session was something I couldn't wait to dive into. Never doing a whole wild animal series, I was overjoyed to find that this is what mom and dad wanted!
WELCOME HOME JASON!
A long awaited homecoming for Sailors aboard the USS Makin Island, Rebecca Danielle Portraits, Northern Indiana Family Photographer.
Monday Morning, after a seven month Deployment, Sailors and Marines aboard the Uss Makin Island docked at their final port in San Diego. An array of families were there to welcome their servicemen and Women. I had the privilege to document one of these families. This family was not just any family, they are my friends. Witnessing the heartache on both ends throughout this deployment made documenting their reunion that much more special. Waterworks all around <3 Thank you "P" Family for letting me be apart of this beautiful and memorable time in your lives!

Beach Season Has Begun!
I had so much fun with this Family here in Pacific Beach! The amount of love they have for each other was beautiful and inspiring. Truly a blessing to have photographed for them!
El Nino had made it's big appearance for winter here in San Diego. With the bipolar weather behind us, It was nice to finally be able to wear some shorts and photograph at the beach. This session was taken at Crystal Pier at Pacific beach. I had so much fun with the "P" Family! The amount of love they have for each other was beautiful and inspiring. Truly a blessing to have photographed for them!
Thank you!

Fun Times at the Poway-Midland Railroad. Contact Rebecca for your next Family session! San Diego Family Photographer | R&M photography By Rebecca
After an extremely busy school scheduled, It was refreshing to get back to photographing families. This last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing a father and his beautiful daughter. Turns out Miss "L" had a birthday coming up and they wanted to get photos taken of the two of them. I am thankful to have worked with them both!
The session was held at Poway-Midland Railroad. The park is filled with train cars, trees and beautiful old wood buildings. A wonderful hidden gem to take the family for some play time.
